Chilli (Green Chilli) – Seed to Harvest Guide

1️⃣ Seed Selection & Preparation

Choose high-quality chilli seeds for better germination and yield. For faster sprouting, seeds can be soaked in clean water for 6–8 hours before sowing.

2️⃣ Sowing Seeds

Sow seeds 0.5–1 cm deep in well-drained, fertile soil. Use seed trays, pots, or grow bags. Maintain light moisture—avoid overwatering.

3️⃣ Germination Stage

Seeds germinate within 7–10 days in warm conditions. Keep the soil moist and place the container in a bright location with indirect sunlight.

4️⃣ Seedling Development

After 2–3 weeks, seedlings develop strong stems and true leaves. Once seedlings reach 10–12 cm height, they are ready for transplanting into larger pots or grow bags.

5️⃣ Vegetative Growth

Chilli plants grow bushy with regular watering and 6–8 hours of sunlight daily. Apply organic compost or liquid fertilizer every 10–15 days for healthy growth.

Small white flowers appear around 35–45 days after sowing. Avoid stress from water shortage during this stage for better fruit setting.

Flowers develop into green chilli pods within 10–15 days after flowering. Plants begin producing multiple chillies per branch.

8️⃣ Harvesting

Chillies are ready to harvest in 60–75 days. Pick green chillies when they are firm and glossy. Regular harvesting encourages continuous production.

9️⃣ Continued Yield

With proper care, chilli plants can keep producing for 4–6 months. Regular watering, sunlight, and organic feeding improve yield and fruit quality.
