Growing Cluster Beans
Cluster Beans: Cluster beans are very easy to grow in balconies in pots. It germinates easily and grows well in acidic, well-drained soil. It has high fiber content among all other vegetables.
Sowing Season: Jun-July, October-November
Sunlight: Cluster beans require 6-8 hours of direct sunlight.
Potting Soil: soil, cocopeat, vermicompost can be mixed and used as potting soil.
HDPE Bag Size: 18”x12”, 15”x12” and 24”x12” can be used to grow carrots. Rectangular bags with 12” height can also be used.
Spacing: Cluster beans require spacing of 10-15cm distance between 2 plants.
Fertilizer: Use vermicompost, cowdung manure and other organic fertilizers at regular intervals.
Harvest: Can be harvested in 60-90 days
Pest Control: Pod borer, leaf hopper and Ash weevils are some of the common pest that attacks cluster beans and it can be controlled using Agni astra and other organic pesticides.
